Joint Agrcultural Lendng Machine Scheme

Joint agricultural machinery lending scheme was an initiative between South Ossetian and Georgian farmers.

The initiative aimed at increasing agricultural capacity through cooperation and providing farmers access to the equipment and training.

Early in 2007, a parallel agricultural lending scheme and joint agricultural trainings were prepared and held by CBDN business centres in Kutaisi, Tskhinvali and Tbilisi.

The same year, GCPP (Global Conflict Prevention Pool) provided an addtional grant for the initiative. As part of the grant, CBDN business centres in Tskhinvali, Tbilisi and Kutaisi created a pool for renting most needed agricultural machinery and provided farmers with a tractor and seeds. The lent machinery  was actively used by both communities and administered by the CBDN South Ossetian Business Centre.
